How Grace on the Trail Began
Grace on the Trail began with a Jeep, a friendship, and a calling. Our journey started when we attended our first Jeep invasion and had the opportunity to spend time with our friend Jason Hodges, founder of Fellowship of Jeepers. Seeing the way Jason used Jeeps, fellowship, and his love for Jesus to reach people inspired us. We began thinking — what if we could do the same thing here in North Carolina? Jason lives in Texas and Mark felt led to start something right here in our own backyard. After talking, praying, and dreaming about what it could become, we knew we had found a name that fit what was on our hearts.
Both of us have loved Jesus since we were young and our faith has always been an important part of who we are. Now we want to take that faith outside the walls of a church and onto the trails, the roads, and wherever God leads us. We want to use what God has given us — our Jeeps, our chickens, our dogs, our friends, and our adventures — to connect with people and share the love and grace of Jesus. This is more than Jeeps. It's more than trails. It's more than ducks. It's about Jesus. And we're just getting started. Come along with us.
What We're Made Of
Four things that define who we are and how we do ministry.
The Jeep Wave
Every Jeep driver knows the wave. It's a simple greeting between strangers that says, "I see you." For us, it's also an opportunity to connect, make a new friend and sometimes start a conversation about faith. We believe ministry can begin with something as simple as a wave.
The Rubber Duck
We leave Faith Over Fear ducks along the way as little reminders of Hope, Joy and Faith. Each duck carries a message-and hopefully starts a conversation. If you find one, keep it, share it or pass it along. Keep the duck, Pass the faith.
The Flock
We love our chickens and yes- they're part of the adventure! but the flock means more to us than chickens. It's about community, friendship and doing life together. We believe God brings people into our lives for a reason, and we want to welcome others just as they are.
The Word
Everything we do is rooted in our love for Jesus and God's Word. We don't want to hide our faith or water it down. We want to share the Hope, Grace and Love of Jesus wherever the trail takes us.

MARK & SHARI — Behind Grace on the Trail. We are people who love Jesus, love Jeeps, love God's creation and love bringing people together. We're a little bit of everything — Jeeps, chickens, rubber ducks, dogs, friends and a whole lot of faith. We believe God calls us to look out for one another, enjoy His creation and help others feel safe, welcome and encouraged wherever the trail leads. We're here to share a little adventure, a lot of friendship and most importantly, the love and grace of Jesus.
